Teleférico...Today we went on the Teleférico which I presume means "tramway" in Spanish. The tram ride was about 15 minutes and it took us to a mountain (of which I do not know the name) that overlooks the entire city of Quito. Quito lies in a pretty narrow valley and the city's population of roughly 2.5 million people extends long-ways throughout the valley.
The altitude on top of the mountain is about 13,000 feet and it was very difficult to hike up the trails (like the one pictured above) without getting pretty winded.
Today I intended to write a long reflection about the program as a whole but I think I'll do that on Friday when I am back in Ohio. I have too much preparation and packing to do.
