Sombreros Ecuatorianos...First day of classes. It wasn't really a day of class at all, though, because our teacher Anne Porter is still in Ohio (she won't be here in Cuenca until Saturday). So today, all we did was orient ourselves with our literature class and then we walked around the city. I walked around with Billy and Nick and we stepped inside of this hat store.
They had all sorts of Panama hats in there and it was cool. For the record, Panama Hats are not actually made in Panama. Rather, they are made in Ecuador and are built using the valuable (and plentiful) toquilla straw.
